It has b een a long time in coming\, but now that it has started\, there will be no stopping it. It is taking place in an area of technology that has lapsed e mbarrassingly far behind every other industry that calls itself high-tech. The industry is telecommunications\, and the revolution is being fueled by an open source Private Branch eXchange (PBX) called Asterisk?.\n\nAsterisk sits at the apex of a variety of transitions (Proprietary ➝\; Open So urce\, Circuit Switched ➝\; VoIP\, Voice only ➝\; Voice\, Video \, and Data\, Digital Signal Processing ➝\; Host Media Processing\, C entralized Directory ➝\; Peer to Peer) while easing those transitions by providing bridges back to the older ways of doing things.\n\nThe founde rs of Max Cole Technology Solutions\, a Singapore based company providing c ommercial sales and support of Asterisk based PBXes\, will be giving a tech nical presentation on Asterisk and VoIP on Wednesday April 16th. \n\n------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------\n\nPart 2: Open Source and Linux Public event (Software Freedom Day )\n\nWe are gaining momentum and looks like the event is on.
